WH-347 certified payroll from your payroll file
Drop this week's payroll CSV or Excel: Wagesheet lays it out in the WH-347 format with the Statement of Compliance, checks overtime and prevailing wages, and prints it. Nothing uploaded.
The WH-347 is optional — the information isn't
Contractors on Davis-Bacon and Related Acts projects must submit a certified payroll for every week covered work is performed. Under 29 CFR 5.5(a)(3)(ii) it “may be submitted using Optional Form WH-347 or in any other format desired”, and each payroll must come with a signed Statement of Compliance. Wagesheet prints page 1 in the WH-347 layout — worker, J/RA, classification, daily ST/OT hours, rates, fringe credit, cash in lieu, gross, deductions and net — and page 2 with the Statement of Compliance in the form's own wording, boxes 1–6, the apprenticeship and fringe benefit tables and the signature block.
What Wagesheet checks
- Overtime: hours over 40 a week (federal) or California's daily 8/12-hour and seventh-day rules, split into straight time, overtime and double time, and overtime paid at less than 1.5× flagged.
- Prevailing wage: each classification's base rate and fringe against the wage determination you paste in, including cash paid in lieu of fringe and the hourly credit for plan contributions.
- Math: gross from hours × rates, deductions against the total, net pay, gross for all work against gross on this project.
- Missing pieces: worker ID, classification, apprentice program details, plan details for box 5, the certifying official.
Files it reads
A CSV or Excel export from your payroll software or spreadsheet: one row per worker (and classification) with hours for each day of the week, or one row per worker per day (date + hours, or ST/OT/DT columns). Column names are recognised automatically — “Employee”, “Last Name”, “Craft”, “Base Rate”, “H&W”, “Pension”, “FICA”, “Net Pay” and the like. Cells such as 8+2 mean 8 straight-time and 2 overtime hours. Download the templates below the drop zone to see the layout.
Payroll data stays on your computer
Certified payrolls carry names, Social Security numbers and pay. Wagesheet reads your file with JavaScript in your browser tab; nothing is uploaded and no account is needed. Close the tab and the payroll is gone. The printed federal payroll shows only an identifying number (your worker ID or the last four digits of the SSN), as 29 CFR 5.5(a)(3)(ii) requires for weekly transmittals.
Free and Pro
Every check is free for any number of workers, and the printed payroll includes up to 3 workers with a small footer. Pro prints every worker without the footer and adds the California eCPR XML, Excel and CSV downloads and a saved project for next week.
How it works
- Drop this week's payroll (CSV or Excel) — or try the sample.
- Fill in the project once: week ending, payroll number, project, contractor, and paste the wage determination's rates.
- Fix what it flags, then print the certified payroll and Statement of Compliance to sign — or with Pro download California's eCPR XML, Excel or CSV.
FAQ
What is certified payroll?
A weekly payroll report contractors on prevailing-wage public works submit to show each worker was paid at least the required wage and fringe benefits. On federal Davis-Bacon and Related Acts projects it is due for every week covered work is performed, with a signed Statement of Compliance; Form WH-347 is the Department of Labor's optional format. California public works require certified payroll records submitted electronically to DIR.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Your payroll file is read by JavaScript in your browser tab and never sent to us or anyone else. Worker data isn't stored; close the tab and it's gone. With Pro you can save the project details and wage rates (not workers) in this browser for next week.
Which files can I use?
CSV, tab-separated or Excel. One row per worker per week with hours for each day, or one row per worker per day (timecards). Rates, fringe contributions, deductions and net pay are read when present. Download the templates to see the layout; your own column names usually work.
What's free?
Every check — overtime, prevailing wage, fringe and pay math — for any number of workers, and the printed WH-347-format payroll and Statement of Compliance with up to 3 workers and a small footer. Pro prints every worker without the footer and adds California eCPR XML, Excel and CSV downloads and a saved project.
Will my agency accept it?
Federal rules allow the weekly payroll on the optional WH-347 or any format with the same information, with a signed Statement of Compliance; Wagesheet's page 2 uses the WH-347 wording. Your contracting agency or prime contractor decides what it accepts, so check with them. For California, the XML validates against DIR's published schema but you upload and certify it yourself.
Does it replace payroll software?
No. Wagesheet doesn't calculate taxes, pay anyone or file anything. It takes the payroll you already ran, checks it against the wage determination and lays it out as a certified payroll for you to review, sign and submit.
